The Radnorshire Wildlife Trust is one of the youngest wildlife trusts in the UK. Established in 1987 as a volunteer only group we have grown to an organisation with 19 reserves across the county covering a range of habitats from woodland to moorland, wetland to meadow. Where possible, RWT has an open access policy to allow enjoyment of the reserves for all. Even those with some restrictions are accessible in part or at certain times of the year.
Throughout its history Radnorshire Wildlife Trust has actively promoted environmental education and action for wildlife by local people and has built up considerable knowledge and experience. In recent years we have made significant improvements to access and facilities at our 418 acre Gilfach Farm reserve and have developed an important environmental educational, interpretation and visitor resource.
We provide events throughout the year, including talks, children’s events and exhibitions, all centred on wildlife and conservation and a range of educational activities many of which are delivered at our visitor centre - Gilfach Nature Discovery Centre.
