Brecknock Wildlife Trust is the local wildlife conservation charity protecting wildlife in south Powys (the old county of Brecknock).

We are a charity with members who help us to work hard for the protection of the wildlife habitats and species in the old county of Brecknock and we are based in the town of Brecon. We have 22 nature reserves in the southern part of Powys and the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Wildlife Watch Clubs

Volunteers run Wildlife Watch groups and if you are an adult and would like to start a group please see webpage or contact Brecknock Wildlife Trust for more information. 

Schools membership

Brecknock Wildlife Trust currently offers a membership package for schools and other youth organisations. See website or contact Office for details. 

Family fun events:

Please see website and social media for details of events, some of our activity days are specifically aimed at young people.  

Nature Reserves:

Get your parents to take you to one of our nature reserves, a great place to try out your Watch spotter sheets!

Older children can try one of our nature reserve work parties in the school holidays.  Suitable for those looking to gain the Kestrel and Nature Ranger Awards, under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Contact office for details of work parties.
