More about Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust

Events Programme

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust has an extensive events programme where a large number of the events are for families. These are throughout the county and provide a large range of activities from explorers challenge to stream dipping, teddy bears picnics to Easter egg hunts.

Watch Groups

We have the following Watch groups:  Forest of Dean Group, Newent Group and Stroud Group.

Schools

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust has worked in many areas of education since it was founded in 1961. Education has always been one of its key objectives and as the organisation has expanded so has our involvement with schools across the county.  We can offer:

  • School Visits to our education facility at Robinswood Hill Country Park or to local nature reserves
  • The Primary Schools Wildlife Quiz, offering schools the chance to compete against each other
  • Free advice for improving school grounds
  • INSET sessions for teachers making them aware of the potential for outdoor learning
  • Guidance for initiatives such as ECO-School, Forest School and Sustainable Schools
  • Schools membership of Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
  • Wildlife Watch - which can form the basis of an after-school wildlife club.

We also work with uniform groups taking them to reserves or doing talks and activities with them.
