A small moth that is common throughout the UK. It is a day flying moth which is found in heathland and moorland areas as well as woodland & grassland habitats.
How to identify: A small speckled moth which varies widely in its colouration, from white to grey to brown. The speckled pattern sometimes forms stripes across the wings but not always. This moth flies in the daytime.
Where: Found throughout the UK
Fantastic fact: The male moths have feathery antennae, but the females don't so it is easy to work out which is which.
