About: A small, elongated, large-headed fish found in rock pools and shallow rocky seas. Grows up to 12cm long. Variable in colour, with darker blotches.
How to identify: Gobies differ from Blennies in having more rounded heads and smaller eyes. There are several similar species which can be difficult to tell apart.
Where: Found all round our coasts.
Fantastic fact: The female Rock Goby lays up to 7000 eggs in a 'nest' amongst seaweed and rocks.
