About: Common dolphins arone of the commoner dolphin species in UK waters but are still at threat from getting caught in fishing nets. They can sometimes be seen leaping out of the water - when they jump really high this is known as breaching.
How to identify: Can be identified from the creamy stripe on their side
Where: Found in the North Sea and the West Coast of the UK
Fantastic fact: Despite their name, comon dolphins are not that common
