About: A medium-sized warbler, about 13cm long. Cetti's Warblers are birds of willow scrub, marshes and nettle beds. They are rich chestnut brown above and greyish below, with a pale throat. They sing from the cover of dense bushes and can be very difficult to spot.
How to identify: A rich brown warbler, with greyish chest and sides of the head and a long, often cocked tail. Best recognised by its fruity, bubbling song.
Where: Resident in the south of England and south Wales.
Fantastic fact: Cetti's Warbler is a recent colonist of the UK, never having been recorded in this country before 1961. It first nested here in 1973.
